Joe Elliott was a jailbird. He'd tried to atone by working hard and staying clean, but constant humiliations were pushing him near to breaking point. The straw bent when Joe heard that a member of the Reb Beecher gang was hurt badly during a bank robbery. His half brother Bart was in that gang, and if he was the one who was hurt, Joe wanted to be with him...As he rode toward the outlaw trail, Joe knew he was jeopardizing his chances for freedom; bitterness pushed him one way, his conscience pulled him another.
