A brand new Western adventure from Charles Ray!

With the proliferation of barbed wire, relations between open-range ranchers and farmers are becoming tense and incidents of barbed wire fence destruction are happening all over Texas. The rangers are stretched thin dealing with them, so when the little town of Farmersville, north of Dallas, has a problem with fence cutting, ranger commander Big Bill Perlmutter only has one ranger he can spare to deal with the situation. J.D. Pettit, who is not at all fond of the cotton country of East Texas, is sent to Farmersville where he finds the only local lawman he has to work with is a young, inexperienced deputy, Lem Jackson. The two of them soon find that not only do they need to find and stop the fence cutters before there’s a war between the farmers and ranchers of the area, but they must also find the murderer of a young farm hand to forestall a lynch mob exacting its own justice.
