When Rusty delivers a captured outlaw to the marshal’s office in the little town of Pecos, he finds himself neck deep in a feud between two families that has begun to involve the towns folk, in particular Lizzie Noonan, the owner of the town’s drugstore. While he doesn’t ordinarily involve himself in the affairs of other people, he feels a compulsion to help Lizzie and the other merchants of Pecos extricate themselves from the dispute. This entails getting more deeply involved than is comfortable and threatens a deadly confrontation.
