A brand new Bass Reeves adventure from Charles Ray!
Bass is given a warrant to arrest a gang of ten outlaws who are hiding out somewhere in the vicinity of Waynoka, a railhead in the Cherokee Strip. He takes his friend Henry Lone Tree, two posse men, and a cook and heads west. Plans for a two-week trip are knocked awry when he encounters other violations of the law enroute, including the killing of a customer by the owner of a brothel in a small settlement which he believes was justifiable, but he still must take the woman in.
In Waynoka, Bass discovers that the outlaw gang has joined forces with its leaders cousin who happens to be a cattle rustler. What started as a simple trip to arrest ten fugitives has suddenly blossomed into the prospect of a full-scale war, and all the odds seem to be on the outlaws side.
