The Runaway

Tom Jeffries, South Florida PI, rescues thirteen-year-old Samantha Renee Williams from two thugs who are threatening to introduce her to womanhood the hard way. However, rescue is only the beginning because she refuses to tell him where and whom she is running from. After arranging for her to stay with a friend, Tom launches an investigation to discover her background.
A Mother who isn't and a crime boss complicate matters as Tom uncovers a chamber of horrors not seen since the Spanish Inquisition. Only his quick wits and the belated help of the police can keep him alive and place Renee in the loving environment she so desires - and deserves.
