They called themselves Zion’s Children and they were headed for their own personal Paradise. But they knew nothing about life on the frontier, so they hired Shane Preston and Jonah Jones to see their wagon train through safely to its destination.
Not all was as it seemed, however.
Two members of the congregation, Chadwick and Raggart, claimed to be new converts … but they still wore guns at their hips and had about them the look of owlhoots. Who were they, really? And what did they have hidden away in their wagon that they guarded so jealously?
Before Shane and Jonah would solve that particular problem, there were others to occupy them—namely, an outlaw gang led by the notorious Santos Picella, who reckoned they would be easy prey … and Lucas Crane’s bunch of cutthroats, who had reasons of their own for shadowing the wagons.
In the end there would be violence—a lot of it. And when the gun smoke cleared, twelve dead men would be bound for Boot Hill …
