Need to Know is the first in a series of tales which are prequels to In Hero Years...I'm Dead. Grant Stone is an extraterrestrial raised as a human teenager. He's possessed of amazing powers and yet isn't certain if he wants more out of life than to work the family farm. But armed revolutionaries come to the small town of Lyttleton, forcing him to reevaluate his future, and acquaints him with an ally who already knows far too much about Grant's secret.
