‘Velázquez proves to be an intriguing and idiosyncratic protagonist.’ Barry Forshaw, Crime Time

A vicious killer is operating in Seville.

Inspector Velázquez, an overburdened but determined officer, is ordered to apprehend him before he murders again.

But then Velázquez’s number two, Subinspector Gajardo, goes missing. A severed finger is delivered to the station.

The killer claims the finger belonged to Gajardo, and he threatens to cut the rest of the man's fingers off if Velázquez continues to work on the investigation.

The butchery continues.

Velázquez is attacked in his own home, and he comes round to discover Gajardo’s dead and mutilated body lying next to him.

A senior officer, Comisario Alonso, gives the order for Velázquez to be arrested for murder.

The policeman becomes a fugitive and resolves to catch the killer himself, to clear his name and avenge his friend's death.

Velázquez finds an ally from an unlikely source.

But will it be enough to put an end to the butchery?
