King's Folly

When Jessica Milroy - divorced, ageing, but still energetic - attempts to have a much-deserved holiday, her foray into the West Country in her small, unreliable car results in an extraordinary experience. Meeting many characters very different from those she had encountered during her somewhat conventional life, she is caught up in their problems to such a degree that to solve them becomes an obsession. When, inadvertently, she is presented with the answer she has long been seeking, it is as unexpected as it is tragic.
