Six Men Died

(1964)
(Book 16 in the Robert Budd series)
A novel by

That deceptively sleepy-eyed detective, Mr. Budd, was spending a short holiday with his friend Alan Denman, a retired newspaper reporter, when he became involved in one of the most intricate and difficult cases of his career.

The murders at Little Ditchling seemed to defy solution, especially the choice of the unusual weapon. There was doubt too that they were all the work of the same hand, and yet obviously connected in some way.

Will Mr. Budd eventually untangle the truth and supply his reporter friend with a final 'scoop' to end his career?

Gerald Verner can always be relied upon to keep the pace fast and pile mystery and excitement on mystery and excitement until the unexpected solution.

Gerald Verner (1897-1980) was the pseudonym of British writer John Robert Stuart Pringle. Born in London, Verner wrote more than 120 novels that have been translated in over 35 languages, and many of his books have been adapted into films, radio serials and stage plays. Verner also wrote forty-four Sexton Blake tales.
