The fifth installment of Nightwalkers! The stakes are rising for Kass and Gabriel... Kass is finally back from the crazy alternate world the Sorcerer sent her to, and she plans to fully enjoy the normalcy of her life and her friends - if you could call purifying Demons by night and going to high school by day normal. It's all good and fun to be back in her world...until she starts having visions of the first Purifier. She thought her past was screwed up, but the first Purifier's? No competition. And what's even worse - she starts having suspicions that the first Purifier is still alive, and one of her inner circle. While spending time with her ex-Guardian, Koath, Kass finds out that a large, white wolf has been stalking through the town at night. It hasn't attacked anyone yet, and if she has a say, it won't get the chance. It's a good distraction from Gabriel - who she may or may not have made out with in the alternate Earth. The white wolf, though, turns out to be the least of her problems, for Crixis continues to stalk her, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. An ancient being, he could easily kill her - but he likes to make things interesting. This time, this particularly malicious plan...well, it won't end well for someone very close to Kass. Kassandra Niles has been told over and over that being a Purifier means that her life will be cut short. But what happens when it's someone else who pays the ultimate price? Can she overcome sorrow - the deep sorrow that only comes with the death of a close friend - or will she give into vengeance?
