Hotline

(1991)
A novel by

Wrong number, right caller.

Lonely single mom Erin Spencer answers her phone one stormy night thinking the caller chatting through the static is her brother. She is startled to learn rather quickly that the pleasant voice belongs to a total stranger, Brett Nash. They laugh together about the misunderstanding, then chat a few more minutes before reluctantly disconnecting. The next time he dials her number, it's deliberate.

Soon, Erin and Brett have a flirty, intimate, long-distance relationship. She finds herself looking forward to his calls, feeling surprisingly close to this man she has never even seen. But when he asks to meet her in person, she hesitates. Could reality possibly live up to their fantasy affair?
