Doug Ford, a cop in a picturesque Vermont ski town, is arrested for the murder of a woman he had been seen with frequently. Because he hadn't told anyone about the case he's investigating, no one except old Marine buddy and Canadian police chief Reid Bennett believes he was framed. Now, Reid uncovers a trail of dirty money that leads all the way to New York.
