James and Veronica are faced with different problems at different ends of the world. Veronica meets with the members of a group called the brotherhood of light, who have tasked themselves with bringing down the L’hombre. They are the ones that want to hire her, and she meets them at the back of a store, where they discuss why they are needed. Veronica makes them convince her to join them even though she already has the intention of joining them because she would need help to get James back, and they seem to be the only ones offering help. She agrees to work with them, and they send her on the first mission, which is to kill a man called Vlahovic, who is working for the other organization.
