Seven tons of gold coin - finders keepers. One hundred boxes of stolen bullion dating from the Civil War remain in Spain, and only Sidney Starman, an aged veteran of the International Brigades, knows where they're hidden. He left Spain in 1937 with his heart broken and his idealism betrayed, fighting a battle with his conscience it took him nearly seventy years to lose. Now he's going back with the only volunteers he can muster at short notice: hard-drinking conman Lenny Knowles, his depressed sidekick Nick Crick and a sick Transit called Gloria. Lenny and Nick's job seems simple. They dig up the gold and they drive home, but has the man they call El Sid told them the whole truth?
