Our Bride's Dashed Dreams
(2022)(The seventh book in the MacPherson Sisters series)
A novel by Kat Lynne
Rose paused her combing. Her reflection stared back at her. Clear porcelain skin, a head of luxuriant wavy hair that her sisters always fussed over. She'd always been proud of her beauty. It was hard not to be when her sisters fussed over her and called her the adorable one in the family. Here, she was a doll on display.
She was getting married to the wealthiest and most sophisticated man in all of Montana as Kathryn always said. She was a very lucky woman. Shed have it all: comfort, love, and the lifestyle shed had in New Hampshire.
So why was she not happy?
And how can I love Shannon if I dont know him?
Bruce Fields did not take kindly to strangers.
You shouldnt be alone out here with the birds and trees. His friend had told him. But it was simpler this way.
The people of Fort Benton had made their opinion of him very clear. Hed vowed to stay away and live his life in solitude. How could he live amongst those who were so quick to label him a criminal?
Who goes there?
Bruce took a step toward the sound. This was the height of it. For weeks, no one had bothered him. He assumed theyd gotten tired of spying and left him be. He crept closer. The sight stopped him dead in his tracks. A mess of hair. A yellow dress. He blinked. It was a woman.
She was caught in the trap hed set last month in hopes of catching the spy, and she had twisted her ankle when she fell. Now he was forced to take her to his home, something he never did, in order to help her.
This will hurt a little.
He glanced up at her. She stared into the darkest eyes shed ever seen and found herself trusting this large stranger. Something about his gaze on hers felt familiar. Shed seen those eyes before somewhere. Was it a mere imagination?
Rose couldnt stop thinking about the man in the woods ..she didnt even know his name ..but she was so drawn to him.
Images of Rose haunted him. One minute he was focused on the task before him; the next, his mind was filled with thoughts of Rose
Love doesnt just fall into our laps ..sometimes we have to fight for it
Genre: Inspirational
