Eutychus Bly is yet on another mission for Governor William Hoppe. This time he is dispatched to a town called Neodesha located in Miami County in southeastern Kansas. Oil and gas have been discovered there and with the discovery comes immediate problems for settlers who find themselves in the crosshairs of large drilling companies who want to either buy their land or lease it. These companies won’t take no for answer. They have deep pockets and many employees, some of whom are nothing more than bullies, hitmen who do not hesitate to use whatever means necessary to sway the settlers.
Governor Hoppe wants the threats and the egregious abuses stopped. In A Crude Awakening, watch Range Detective Bly go to work and do what he does best—bring justice to those who somehow believe they are above the law
