Trouble in Logan County
(2024)(Book 12 in the Eutychus Bly: U.S. Marshal Western series)
A novel by Scott Harris and Casey Nash
A brand new Western adventure from Casey Nash and Scott Harris, introducing Harris' latest character, Dakota Parker!
Kansas governor William Hoppe is on the boil again. A vein of nickel has been discovered a few miles southwest of Russell Springs, in Logan County. Sixty mining claims have been filed, the majority by German immigrants. Hoppe gets word that these miners and their families are being robbed and some killed as they attempt to transport their cargo of nickel to the nearest assayers office in Oakley.
This all comes to a head when one of the miners sons, a twelve-year-old boy the name of Hons, takes it upon himself to carry the nickel they have discovered into town. He thought being so young that no one would suspect him to be carrying anything valuable. The boy was wrong, terribly wrong. He and his horse disappeared. His family is distraught.
Governor Hoppe wants Eutychus Bly in Russell Springs pronto. But will Bly have to do the job alone? Not if Dakota Parker has anything to say about it. Parker, working undercover for the Pinkerton Detective Agency, has made his way to Logan County. Apparently, the same thieves and killers robbing the miners are also doing the same with the three stage lines that cross the Smoky Hill trail.
Will Detectives Bly and Parker see the advantages of working together, or will they stubbornly choose to work alone?
Genre: Western
