The war to remove China from America is heating up. However, China has its own internal problems, a growing insurrection, and a growing civil war, made up of angry peasants and farmers. China also is working around the clock to restore power to her major cities that were blacked out by the FA. The Free American military has solidified under the overall command of General Roberts is also the temporary head of the government. The Americans lost Washington when a nuclear plant outside of Pittsburgh melted down and sent radioactive fall out east. The new capital of America is Philidephia, which also happened to be the first capital.

A plan is drafted to attack LA and capture or kill the Chinese senior commanders McDonald's militias joined by Gray Sky's Indian warriors and a few thousand Marines who never left Camp Pendleton. merge their forces to fight not only the Chinese but also the newly created USPA, (United States People's Army made up of young men and women who were quickly trained, armed, and sent to the front to fight the battle-hardened FA troops.

While on the east coast the UN has launched a brilliant plan to capture the Virginia Beach area, the world's largest naval base, the Oceanic Naval Air Station, and the II facility where two nuclear carriers were under construction and two were being repaired. The UN wanted the ships and the weapons, including nuclear weapons stored in the area.

When the UN lands, they have a surprise for the FA defenders, a brand new tank, one never seen before. One that uses the latest armor, self-defense system, and a new 130 mm canon that can defeat the Abrams' armor.

In the middle of the battles, Gray Ghost receives some unexpected news from Phyllis that may affect his decisions.

Book 9 of the Behind Every Blade of Grass is the next to last in the series. Each book is a 60,00-75,000 word story. (Book 9 is 75,000 words.) Each picks up right after the previous story.
