A brand new Western adventure from Paul L. Thompson!

In eighteen hundred and seventy-four, Clem and Susan Jones bought the Ruiz Herrea twenty-thousand-acre farm and ranch. It was located in the San Juan River Valley starting six miles east of the small town of Bloomfield, New Mexico.

Fourteen years later and after many improvements, Jones was selling out for over double the money he had paid. A greedy rancher in the area wanted that valley farm so he could raise his own winter feed. He just wasn’t going to pay the price Jones was asking, no more that he would pay Herrera’s price. Now a rich investor that wouldn’t even live on the place was buying it from under him again.

“You sold to the wrong man, Jones! You haven’t heard the last from me and my boys!”

Packard Talben could find men in Bloomfield that would gladly, for money, take care of Jones and Harold Kindle. Kindle had gone all the way to Denver for the money to hand over to Jones.

Men will be dead this time, but that farm and ranch would still be his.
